The Genesis Orrery
Our most comprehensive orrery 'The Genesis' is available in three varieties: six, eight or nine planets featuring major moons and axial tilts.
An Overview
The first four planets, Mercury through to Mars, are of the same design found on the Inner Planet Orrery.
The Six Planet Genesis takes advantage of the space vacated by the other planets. Jupiter and Saturn feature all their major moons as well as some minor moons. Jupiter’s Red Spot is also featured swirling around on this Orrery.
The Eight Planet Genesis features less moons but more planets. The Nine Planet Genesis includes the much-maligned Pluto.
How does the Genesis Orrery Work?
Each arm of the outer planets (Jupiter through to Pluto) Utilise two independent gear trains. The orbital gear, train which drives the orbit of the planet's arm and the moon gear train, which drives the rotation of the planet's moons.
The significance of this gear train delivery system is that it allows for a smooth uncompromised action despite the huge ratios differences between the ponderous planets and their hasty moons.

Moons: Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan and Iapetus

Eight Planet Genesis
Jupiter features:
Moons: Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
Saturn features:
Moons: Rhea, Titan and Iapetus
Saturn’s axial tilt of 26.7 degrees.
Uranus features:
Moons: Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon.
Uranus’ axial tilt of 98 degrees.
Neptune Features:
Moons: Proteus and the retrograde moon Triton.
Neptune’s axial tilt of 28.3 degrees.

Pluto features:
Moons: Charon, Styx, Nix, Kerberos, and Hydra.
Dimensions
All the Genesis models are sat upon a 10” diameter wooden base. The legs of the orrery protrude further to create a maximum diameter 13”
